Can you imagine that we have successfully wrapped up our third funding cycle? It’s been an inspiring funding cycle and we are excited to share with you the remarkable projects that we’ve funded!
Black and Indigenous youth continue to lead the way in creating capacities for thriving and experiencing joy within their communities and we are honored to support these initiatives. Through grassroots, innovative projects, Black and Indigenous youth are not only challenging systemic issues but also building a more inclusive and sustainable present and future for their communities.
Like the previous funding cycle, our goal is to spotlight and focus on the deeply uniqueness and creativity of Black and Indigenous youth across the board. As a team it was a deeply healing experience to read through the submitted project, envision the care and love that went into every conceptualized project and find a sense of joy in the knowledge that so many brilliant youth are bettering their communities with or without the necessary and critical support systems.
The Indigenous and Black Youth Support Fund was birthed out of our experience of not being able to access funding as youth organizers ourselves. Being young, migrant and refugee students we know the difficulty of juggling jobs, side gigs, school online all while trying to make space for the things and people you care for.
